Organising your house is a fairly simple task, but the tricky part is to keep it organised especially when you have children and/or a very busy lifestyle. It’s not just a ‘once in a blue’ job as it requires a little work each day, but there are quick and easy things you can do to maintain that tidy home.
Take 5 minutes of your day to walk around the house with a bin collecting any rubbish lying around - this includes junk mail and receipts.
Put things back
While collecting rubbish around the house, you will find things that are out of place - simply put them back where they belong. It may be worth having a junk draw or another hidden space to put random things (this is helpful for those that are naturally unorganised).
End each day with a tidy up
Once a task becomes a habit, it’s hard to break it. Before you go to bed at night, make it a point to tidy up so you can start each day on the right track. There’s nothing like a morning cup of coffee in a clean decluttered kitchen! Remember, this job will only get quicker if you keep at it.
Wash and fold laundry
You may not need to wash your laundry daily, but it will prevent pile ups (clean or dirty). Smaller laundry loads take less time so it can be much more convenient then spending precious hours during your free time.
Make your bed
It goes without saying that you should make your bed up daily. Not only is it a great way to start your day, getting into a tidy bed each night will be more comfortable and relaxing to help you get a good night’s sleep.
