HOW TO NOTICE THE UNNOTICED AT HOME

How to Notice the Unnoticed at Home

27th, November 2019

When you see something every day, it’s easy to stop seeing it after awhile, regardless of its beauty or appeal. It’s our brains fault as it only focuses on what we think is important. Whether it is artwork on your walls or a gorgeous view out your window, noticing beauty in your own home is good for your mind and soul. Sometimes it just takes some revamping or rearranging to appreciate what has gone unnoticed.

The weekends are a great time to make changes in your home and it’s even better when you schedule them periodically. Frank Lloyd Wright, notorious American architect who changed the way we live, moved artwork around in his house every few months because he didn’t notice it if it stayed in the same place. So now it’s your turn…

Choose two or three pieces of artwork, whether it be photographs, paintings, sculptures, and find them new real estate in your home. Acknowledge how you feel when these pieces are now more noticeable, especially those with meaning like a gift from a loved one or a family photo. You might find your days may start and end a lot more pleasantly.
